Tricks

Back Balance in Hands

Beginner

The porter places their hands on the flyer's back on their balance point, The flyer then leans back until they are in a back balance in the porter's hands.

Cutaways

Intermediate

Start in hands in either a straddle or pike, flyer beats and both flyer and porter pull while flyer also shoots their hips and legs up. Once midair, flyer and porter let go and flyer switches to the other position and puts their hands out for the porter to catch them. If the flyer is having trouble keeping their hips up, they can push forward on the porter's hands a bit.

Duo Pullover

Beginner

Porter is sitting on the bar with arms braced on the ropes and feet behind the flyer's shoulders. Flyer is hanging from the bar below the porter with hands on either side of the porter. Flyer does a small tempo and does a pullover while the porter leans back and pushes with their feet. Flyer spreads legs at the top to straddle the porter.

Straddle in Hands

Beginner

This trick starts with the flyer and porter in a hand to hand grasp. Flyer then inverts into a straddle.

Straddle Split Spin

Beginner

Start in back balance then flyer compresses on one leg with both hands as porter lets flyer rotate around until they can grab free wrists between the flyer’s legs again. Then grab the hand on the side the flyer was holding their leg to end in a straddle in hands

Up and Wrap

Beginner

One of the first drills a duo team will work on for figuring out their timing. The flyer beats in pike in hands to gain momentum then both flyer and porter pull (porter also should crunch) so the flyer can wrap their legs around the porter as high as possible. From here, the flyer can hang and beat back and up to grab the ropes or bar.
