Flying Trapeze

Two-Position Planche

BeginnerAlso known as Planche

Jump from the platform. At the front of the swing, lift your legs and bring both feet inside your arms, under the bar, stopping them there with your feet pressing against the bar. At the back of the swing, finish bringing your feet under the bar and extend into a planche. The bar should be directly under your butt, with your arms and legs straight and aligned with your body. At the front of the second swing, let go for the catch or to the net.

Safety

When you are in the final position, the fly bar should press against the upper backs of your legs, just under your butt. You need to keep the bar in contact with your body. If you lose contact with the bar, sometimes called “skinning the cat,” you risk injuring your shoulders.
