Object Manipulation

Juggling

Also called Jonglerie

Juggling is an object manipulation discipline in which the artist keeps several objects in the air by throwing and catching them in continuous patterns. The most common props are balls, clubs, and rings, but jugglers also work with hats, diabolos, cigar boxes, knives, and almost any object that can be thrown.

It develops coordination, rhythm, timing, and concentration, and can be performed solo, in pairs, or in groups passing objects between them. Juggling ranges from technical patterns with many objects to playful, theatrical acts and contact juggling, where props roll over the body rather than being thrown.
