Aerial
Lollipop Lyra
Also called Lyra lollipop
Lollipop lyra is a variation of aerial hoop in which the ring is mounted on top of a freestanding vertical pole instead of hanging from the ceiling. The artist climbs the pole to reach the hoop, then hangs, sits, and spins on and beneath it, moving between pole and hoop movements.
Because it needs no overhead rigging, it can be set up outdoors, on stages, and in venues without aerial points. Lollipop lyra combines the strength and flexibility of aerial hoop with the grip and climbing technique of pole, and is known for its spinning, sculptural shapes.
