Hula Hoop
Hula hoop is an object manipulation discipline in which the artist spins one or many hoops around the body. Beyond turning a hoop at the waist, hoopers keep it rotating on the neck, chest, arms, knees and hands, toss and catch it, pass it between body parts, and in circus acts spin dozens of hoops at once.
It combines rhythm, coordination, flexibility and dance, and ranges from fluid, flow-style movement to high-energy multi-hoop routines and fire or LED hoops at night. Hula hoop is widely taught in circus schools and is a popular discipline for beginners, since the first tricks come quickly.
