Ground Acrobatics
Also called Acrobatie au sol
Ground acrobatics is the foundation of circus acrobatics, covering the movements performed on the floor without an apparatus, such as rolls, cartwheels, handstands, walkovers, handsprings, and flips, along with the partner and group figures built from them. It is usually the first discipline taught in circus school and supports almost every other one.
It develops strength, flexibility, coordination, and body awareness, along with safe ways to fall and land. Ground acrobatics can be performed solo or with partners and ranges from gentle floor work to explosive, high-flying sequences.
