Cyr Wheel

Also called Roue Cyr

Cyr wheel is an acrobatic discipline performed inside a single large metal ring, roughly as tall as the artist. Standing within the wheel and holding its rim, the artist sets it rolling, spinning, and circling across the floor, moving through turns, inversions, and dives while the wheel keeps its momentum.

It was developed in Québec in the 1990s by Daniel Cyr, and combines balance, coordination, strength, and a strong sense of rhythm. Cyr wheel is known for its hypnotic, flowing movement and the way the artist and the wheel seem to move as one.
